Main Street Bucksport and World Ocean Observatory are pleased to announce the return of the International Maritime Film Festival. The 2024 festival, its 8th year, is an annual juried contest of films celebrating maritime heritage, the spirit of adventure, the ingenuity of boats and waterborne pursuits, climate issues, and odes to our precious ocean environment. IMFF is THE premier event for maritime-themed filmmaking.
The 2024 in-person festival will take place Thurs - Sat, September 26 - 28 at The Alamo Theatre in Bucksport, and the online festival will follow from October 1-31. During scheduled intermissions of the in-person event, festival-goers will have opportunities to explore downtown Bucksport and its eateries, shops and scenic waterfront overlooking Penobscot Bay, with views of Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge.
