Main Street Bucksport and World Ocean Observatory are pleased to announce the return of the International Maritime Film Festival. The 2023 festival, in its 7th year, is an annual juried contest of films celebrating the heritage, spirit of adventure and ingenuity of boats and waterborne pursuits. It is the premier event for maritime-themed filmmaking.

The 2023 in-person festival will take place Saturday, September 30th at The Alamo Theatre in Bucksport, and the online festival will follow from October 1-31. During scheduled intermissions of the one-day in-person event, festival-goers will have opportunities to explore downtown Bucksport and its eateries, shops and scenic waterfront overlooking Penobscot Bay, with views of Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. Purchase tickets here and at the door.

The On-Demand Festival will take place on Vimeo October 1st through 31st. A one-month pass will cost $10 and films we be made available for whatever time or how often viewers wish to watch during the month. The 2023 festival will post online shortly.
